Los ganadores del cine y la televisión para los Premios Spirit Awards Independientes de Cine de 2024 se entregaron en vivo el domingo por la noche. Continuando con una larga tradición, la ceremonia anual número 39, que honra y celebra a cineastas independientes y a programas de televisión emergentes, tuvo lugar en el muelle de Santa Mónica en Santa Mónica, California, y fue presentada por Aidy Bryant, exalumna de Saturday Night Live.
Este año, American Fiction, May December y Past Lives lideraron las nominaciones de cine con cinco menciones cada uno. The Holdovers y Passages les siguieron de cerca con cuatro cada uno. Finalmente, American Fiction y Past Lives ganaron en grande, asegurando varias victorias a lo largo de la noche.
En televisión, Beef triunfó en dos categorías: Mejor Nuevo Programa de Guion y Mejor Interpretación Principal en un Nuevo Programa de Guion para la estrella Ali Wong.
Algunos ganadores fueron anunciados antes del programa, con Showing Up de Kelly Reichardt recibiendo el Premio Robert Altman, que se otorga al director de una película, el director de casting y el elenco conjunto. En el lado televisivo, Jury Duty fue nombrado el Mejor Elenco Conjunto en un Nuevo Programa de Guion.
